The Beyond Program
3 Days of Full Immersion.
1 Epic Experience.
Join us at Yeagarup Campus in Pemberton for this immersive 3 day experience - designed to help young men reflect on who they are, who they want to become, and how to get there.
Connection
Beyond provides young men direct access to an incredible community of like-minded young adults, all looking to unlock the best version of themselves.
Through engaging with others on a similar self-discovery journey, Beyond creates an environment of accountability, inspiration, and deep reflection into finding a path of alignment and fulfilment in life.
Direction
Through engaging workshops and envisioning sessions, Beyond creates a space for young men to reflect on the life that’s led them to this moment, and what values to live by in order to become their “best self”.
Participants leave the program feeling a greater sense of clarity around who they are, who they want to become, and the steps required to reach their full potential.
Purpose.
The deliberate change in environment for deep reflection, paired with expert led reflection sessions helps participants leave Beyond with a new found sense of meaning and belonging in the world, empowering the next generation of leaders, change-makers, and fulfilled young adults.
Meet the Beyond Team
Jarrod Kayler-Thomson
Founder of The Growth Hunting Company
Sam Witness
Producer, Mentor, Facilitator
Jarrod Kayler-Thomson
Jarrod founded The Growth Hunting Company in 2023, with the goal of creating programs and products that positively impact people and their communities.
Jarrod is a school Principal at OneSchool Global which he enjoys bringing the best out of his students and staff. Jarrod holds a Bachelor of Arts (Education), a Bachelor of Social Science, and in 2023 completed his Master of Education degree, specialising in Mental Health and Wellbeing. From his Masters, Jarrod’s research paper ‘A Rites of Passage Framework for Fostering Social and Emotional Learning in Adolescent Boys’ was published in the International Journal of Education Research and Perspectives.
Before starting The Growth Hunting Company, Jarrod was Head of the Year 9 Rites of Passage Program at Christ Church Grammar School (Perth, Western Australia), where he led a team of educators and mentors who delivered a holistic and experiential curriculum that fostered resilience, self-awareness, and leadership among over 1200 students and over 2000 parents.
He has also worked as an Assistant Director of Sport, a Health and Physical Education Teacher, a Boarding Supervisor, and a Senior Educator at various schools. Outside of his time in schools, Jarrod has been a Semi-Professional and Professional Athlete at several football clubs including Hawthorn, Perth and Subiaco, where he developed strong communication, teamwork, and high performance skills.
In December 2023, Jarrod became the first person to run from Cottesloe to Caves House Hotel (Yallingup), which totalled 6 marathons in 6 days, raising over $40,000 for Multiple Sclerosis research. Jarrod has reflected on his ‘Cott 2 Caves’ journey and extracted what made it successful. He now aims to share those learnings with as many people as possible to motivate and inspire others (especially his own three children) to be the best they can be.
Jarrod is passionate about helping others and in 2024 he joined (in a volunteer capacity) the charity, On My Feet, as an Executive Director on the board. On My Feet aims to transition vulnerable homeless Australians, from shelter to self-sufficiency by providing a hand up rather than a hand-out. The charity does this by engaging participants in their ‘Footsteps Program’ which combines employment, education and exercise.
When Jarrod isn’t hunting growth, you’ll find him spending quality time with his wife and children, going for a long run or watching his beloved Geelong Football Club play.
Sam Witness
Meet Sam “Witness” O’Brien: A content creator, adventure seeker and facilitator.
Sam works as a facilitator and producer for The Growth Hunting Company, along with being an independent film maker and voice for young adults across the world.
In August of 2023, Sam left his university degree behind to go all in on his dream of media production and share the entire journey with the world, from backpacking through Europe for 4 months, to the challenges of feeling disconnected from the traditional pathway.
With over 70,000 followers across social media, Sam reminds young people it’s normal to feel misunderstood and lost in your youth, and provides inspiration to seek out new experiences, find a fulfilling career, and think deeply about your place in the world.
Sam has featured on dozens of podcasts and shows, most notably in October of 2024 when he was interviewed live on Channel 7’s Sunrise show, sharing his powerful message to millions of Australians. (watch here)
Alongside his independent online journey, Sam works as a mentor at Christ Church Grammar Schools’ “On Queenslea Drive” Program, providing guidance for teenage boys on how to become an honourable young man.
Through participating on this program as a student, Sam first met Jarrod, who provided the same mentorship to him that he now aims to provide other students. Through this program, Sam has mentored hundreds of students on their journey from “Boy” to “Young man”.
When Sam isn’t creating content for social media or other brands, you’ll find him running along the coast, surfing or trying to learn every instrument he can get his hands on.
