The Driving Force Behind The Growth Hunting Company

//The Founder

Meet Jarrod

When Jarrod isn’t hunting growth, you’ll find him spending quality time with his wife and children, going for a long run or watching his beloved Geelong Football Club play.

Jarrod holds a Bachelor of Arts (Education), a Bachelor of Social Science, and in 2023 completed his Master of Education degree, specialising in Mental Health and Wellbeing. From his Masters, Jarrod’s research paper ‘A Rites of Passage Framework for Fostering Social and Emotional Learning in Adolescent Boys’ was published in the International Journal of Education Research and Perspectives.

Before starting The Growth Hunting Company, Jarrod was Head of the Year 9 Rites of Passage Program at Christ Church Grammar School (Perth, Western Australia), where he led a team of educators and mentors who delivered a holistic and experiential curriculum that fostered resilience, self-awareness, and leadership among over 1200 students and over 2000 parents.

He has also worked as an Assistant Director of Sport, a Health and Physical Education Teacher, a Boarding Supervisor, and a Senior Educator at various schools. Outside of his time in schools, Jarrod has been a Semi-Professional and Professional Athlete at several football clubs including Hawthorn, Perth and Subiaco, where he developed strong communication, teamwork, and high performance skills.

In December 2023, Jarrod became the first person to run from Cottesloe to Caves House Hotel (Yallingup), which totalled 6 marathons in 6 days, raising over $40,000 for Multiple Sclerosis research. Jarrod has reflected on his ‘Cott 2 Caves’ journey and extracted what made it successful. He now aims to share those learnings with as many people as possible to motivate and inspire others (especially his own three children) to be the best they can be.

Jarrod is passionate about helping others and in 2024 he joined (in a volunteer capacity) the charity, On My Feet, as an Executive Director on the board. On My Feet aims to transition vulnerable homeless Australians, from shelter to self-sufficiency by providing a hand up rather than a hand-out. The charity does this by engaging participants in their ‘Footsteps Program’ which combines employment, education and exercise.
